At it's height one of the largest communist parties in the world, it was held back by it's alliance to Sukarno's bourgeois nationalist government. Largely destroyed by nationalist fascists and religious fanatics in a genocide perpetuated by the military and civilian fanatics, under direction of Suharto and the fervid support of amerika and other imperialist powers. Nathaniel Mehr: Leftist British journalist who wrote the book "Constructive Bloodbath" in Indonesia, which details in-depth the anti-communist genocide in Indonesia which took place between 1965 and 1966. He also wrote briefly about the political background of Indonesia from independence until the genocide. Further, he details the extensive involvement of the amerikan and british governments in the genocide using, in part, declassified amerikan and british government documents.
